WISDOM CRIES OUT

Proverbs 1:20-33

Wisdom cries out in the street, she raises her voice in the public squares. She cries out over all the commotion, she speaks at the entrance of the city gates. In the city she utters her words saying: “You simple ones, you fools, how long will you enjoy mocking and hate knowledge? If you respond to my warning I will pour out my Spirit unto you and teach you My words.

Since I called out and you refused, since I stretched out my hand and no man paid attention, since you neglected all my counsel and did not accept my correction, I in turn will laugh at your calamity. I will mock when terror strikes you, when your fear comes as desolation and your destruction comes as a whirlwind, when distress and anguish comes upon you.

Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer. They shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of Jehovah. They would have none of my counsel and they despised all of my reproof. Therefore they shall eat of the fruit of their own way and be filled with their own devices. The turning away of the simple shall slay them and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

But whoever hearkens unto Me shall dwell safely and shall be free from fear of evil.”
