THUS SAYS JEHOVAH:

“Behold, I will bring evil upon Jerusalem and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the words of the book of the law which the King of Judah has read.

My wrath shall be kindled against this place and shall not be quenched because they have forsaken me and have burned incense unto other gods, provoking me to anger with all the works of their hands.

But to the King of Judah which sent you to inquire of Jehovah, thus shall you say to him.

Thus says Jehovah, God of Israel: “Concerning the words that you have heard. Because your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before Jehovah when you heard what I spoke against this place and against the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and because you have rent your clothes and wept before Me, I also have heard you, says Jehovah.
Behold, I will gather you unto your fathers and you shall be gathered into your grave in peace and your eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring upon this place.”

And they brought the King the word. 2 Kings 22:16-20
